Since launching our Gratitude on Repeat Campaign, Leighton Media has been dedicated to connecting nonprofits with their communities and amplifying their stories to listeners through the power of radio ads.
Through a comprehensive marketing effort that included broadcast, social media, and direct mail, we invited our clients and listeners to nominate their favorite nonprofits. The winners receive 21 radio advertisements per week for 13 consecutive weeks. Additionally, our media consultants meet with the winning nonprofits for a discovery session to create up to three unique messages for their advertising campaigns.

Ivy’s Legacy Foundation: Alexandria, MN
Ivy's Legacy Foundation, based in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, is dedicated to supporting families facing hardships such as the loss of a child, medical challenges, and other crises. Established in 2015, the foundation honors the memory of Ivy Rose Vogt, who was stillborn in 2009. The foundation positively impacts the community through various initiatives including grieving baskets, financial assistance, chemo baskets, character experiences, memorials, and community investment.
Relentless – The Shalie Lipp Foundation: Detroit Lakes, MN
The Shalie Lipp Foundation honors the memory of Shalie Lipp by empowering aspiring female fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA). They organize an annual all-women's fight night, providing a platform for talented fighters to showcase their skills. Winners receive a substantial financial prize, supporting their pursuit of MMA careers. By creating these opportunities, the foundation inspires and uplifts women in the MMA community, keeping Shalie's spirit alive among those who share her passion for the sport.
Humane Society Otter Tail County: Fergus Falls, MN
The mission of the Humane Society Otter Tail County is to provide temporary shelter and care to stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals with the goal of placing every adoptable animal in a caring, permanent home. The society also promotes the humane treatment of all animals and responsible pet guardianship.
TEARS: Grand Forks, ND
TEARS' mission and vision is to create hope, build strength, and end suicide. TEARS provides support, education and outreach to help individuals and families affected by suicide loss find hope and healing within a nurturing community. Through support groups and educational initiatives, TEARS empowers survivors with tools and resources to navigate grief, build resilience, and grow stronger. TEARS works to prevent suicide by raising awareness, advocating for mental health, and promoting wellness through education and resources. TEARS has positively impacted tens of thousands of families worldwide, helping them navigate the challenges of child loss with dignity and support.
Terebinth Refuge: St. Cloud, MN
Terebinth Refuge is a Christ-centered nonprofit dedicated to providing hope, healing, and freedom to women who have been sexually exploited and trafficked. Located in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the organization offers safe and transitional housing and comprehensive support services to facilitate recovery and promote independence. Their holistic approach addresses physical wellness through safe shelter and health programs, mental wellness via trauma therapies and support groups, self-discovery through employment readiness and life skills education, and optional faith-based spiritual care. By educating the community about human trafficking and collaborating with local entities, Terebinth Refuge plays a crucial role in preventing exploitation and supporting survivors, thereby fostering a safer and more informed community.
The Winona Area Humane Society: Winona, MN
The Winona Area Humane Society (WAHS) is a no-kill shelter dedicated to reuniting lost animals with their families, finding forever homes for animals without families, providing humane care and treatment for animals in need and more. Operating primarily through fundraising, donations, and adoption fees, WAHS does not receive state or federal funding. By placing hundreds of cats and dogs into loving homes each year, WAHS significantly enhances animal welfare in the community. Their efforts alleviate animal suffering, reduce overpopulation through spay/neuter programs, and educate the public on humane treatment, fostering a compassionate environment for both animals and residents.
